Somewhere Out There

An Intervention!

I understand that you are in pain. I understand that you feel alone, despair, and self loathing. I understand that you feel like no one really cares about you. That no one ‘gets’ you and your problems. I know that you have a medical condition, be it physical, mental or emotional.

I can relate to that. I understand that getting up, making an effort, pretending to be normal feels and is impossible on some days. I understand that you lose friends because you don’t have the energy and ability to keep a level of intimacy.

It’s not the quantity of friends that matter. It is the quality. A good friend isn’t one you need to talk to everyday in order to maintain the relationship. A good friend is someone who will make time for you and forgive you when you screw up. It works both ways too.
